On 2 December 2009, Wolf Theiss hosted a media brunch devoted to the topic of the Public Private Partnership. This was the first of a series of similar media meetings aiming to provide key journalists with first-hand information on socially significant topical issues. Journalists from leading business-oriented media attended the event and contributed to a fruitful discussion with Wolf Theiss experts, Richard Clegg, Managing Partner of Wolf Theiss Sofia and Maria Danailova, Senior Associate in Wolf Theiss, who shared their expertise on the Public Private Partnership.
“The Public Private Partnership is not about swapping land and forests, it’s a deal. The PPP has two main advantages for the state. It allows the government to build major infrastructure which contributes to the development of the economy without having to pay immediately, and what is more, to obtain high-quality public services over a long period of time. The scale of PPP can differ, but such a partnership has the potential to increase the GDP of the country several times,” says Richard Clegg, managing partner of Wolf Theiss Sofia.
