MORE INTERNATIONAL AWARDS FOR WOLF THEISS

More international awards for Wolf Theiss: “Austrian Law Firm of the Year” and “Czech Republic Law Firm of the Year”.

For the second time in a row, Austria's largest law firm, Wolf Theiss, has this year again been awarded the title of “Austrian Law Firm of the Year” in London. In 2007, for the first time, Wolf Theiss also received the title of “Czech Republic Law Firm of the Year”.

The annual European Awards Dinner of the IFLR (International Financial Law Review) was held at the Natural History Museum in London on 14 March 2007. The prestigious European Awards were again presented this year during the gala dinner, which was attended by 450 people, making it the largest assembly of leading personalities within European financial law.

Wolf Theiss followed on from its success last year and took two awards home. As in 2003 and 2006, the IFLR chose Wolf Theiss as “Austrian Law Firm of the Year", and for the first time, the prize for "Czech Republic Law Firm of the Year” also went to the Austrian law firm.

Wolf Theiss’s Managing Partner Dieter Spranz, who received the award with Paul Sestak (Office Managing Partner of the Prague office), declared the firm to be “thrilled with this result”. He went on: “Last year we were chosen by Chambers & Partners as Eastern European Law Firm of the Year. The fact that we have now also become Czech Republic Law Firm of the Year serves to emphasise the sustained success of our expansion strategy and expertise in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.” In addition to its presence in Austria and the Czech Republic, Wolf Theiss also has offices in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and the Slovak Republic.

The prizes awarded to Wolf Theiss this year represent the latest in a series of awards. In 2006, in addition to the Chambers Global Award for “Eastern European Law Firm of the Year” and IFLR “Austrian Law Firm of the Year”, the law firm was also declared “Austrian Tax Law Firm of the Year” by the International Tax Review.
