WOLF THEISS BECOMES “EASTERN EUROPEAN LAW FIRM OF THE YEAR”
Press Release, 17.11.2006
Wolf Theiss wins the title of the best law firm in Eastern Europe at the Chambers Global Awards in London.
The sought after Chambers Global Awards were presented by Chambers & Partners on Thursday 16 November 2006 at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London. Wolf Theiss won the “Eastern European Law Firm” award, against international competitors such as the large law firms of Allen & Overy LLP, Clifford Chance LLP, CMS Cameron McKenna LLP, DLA Piper, Linklaters and White & Case LLP.
“This award reinforces our position as one of the largest and most important law firms in the CEE/SEE region. The expansion and internationalisation strategy which we adopted in this region has proved to be a good decision, and remains a strategy which we intend to consistently pursue”, explains Andreas Theiss, who received the award in London along with the firm’s Managing Partner Dieter Spranz and other Partners.
In the words of Dieter Spranz, “This award has been achieved thanks to the cooperation between our teams at all Wolf Theiss’s offices, both internationally and between individual specialist fields, and clearly demonstrates our development out of an Austrian firm into a major law firm with an international regional base”.
This is the third major international prize won by Wolf Theiss in 2006, since this year it has already been named “Austrian Law Firm of the Year” and received the prestigious ‘IFLR Award’; and it has also been awarded the title of “Austrian Tax Law Firm of the Year” by the magazine “International Tax Review“.
The British specialist publisher Chambers and Partners publishes one of the internationally most reputable law directories, and presents awards to leading law firms in a number of legal fields. The Chambers Global Awards represent some of the most prestigious prizes which competing firms and lawyers can receive at international level.
