WOLF THEISS PARTICIPATED IN THE SMART START INITIATIVE

The Bulgarian office of one of the leading law firms in Central and Southeastern Europe - WOLF THEISS, participated in the Smart Start 2011 initiative in Bulgaria. The event, organized by Juniour Achievement Bulgaria aims to help students and high-school pupils in their career preparation and development by introducing them to leading business practices, companies and individuals and offering them valuable insight and practical advice.   

The managing partner of the Wolf Theiss Bulgarian office Richard Clegg offered to the participants his view on the topic Working Internationally. He touched on the added value of working and travelling internationally from a personal perspective and explained the specifics of international business transactions and entities from practical point of view. Clegg used the example of a joint venture between a Bulgarian and Russian company, operating in Venezuela to explain all the aspects of such a business enterprise – financial, legal, management, political, mutual interests of the parties, the options for creating and ending the cooperation, etc.

Smart Start is held by Junior Achievement Bulgaria for the second year in a row in Bulgaria in partnership with the US Embassy in Bulgaria. The event aims at encouraging the entrepreneurial attitude and behavior of students, at teaching them the personal values of self-promotion, leadership, and self-reliance. In the context of training, role-modeling and advising the 20 best performing students have the opportunity to do an internship at 20 prestigious international and Bulgarian companies which participate in the conference.
